Teatro Maggio
Musicale Fiorentino

Logo and Identity

Course: Branding and Identity
Date: Spring 2020
Goal: To redesign the logo and identity system for a Florentine Theater.

The Florentine Opera, or Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino is one of the few modern buildings in Florence, a city known for its museums and churches which are filled with Renaissance artwork and Gothic architecture.

In designing a new identity for the theater, I wanted it to reflect the contrast between the architecture of the building and the architecture of the city. I used outlines from a photograph of the building itself and condensed them to create the logo, and used these shapes to determine the identity system.
